Sri Lanka’s New Ambassador to Russia Presents Credentials to President Putin
Sri Lanka’s newly appointed Ambassador to the Russian Federation, Ms. Shobini Gunasekera, has officially presented her Letters of Credence to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The formal diplomatic ceremony was held at the historic Kremlin Palace in Moscow.
Ambassadors from 32 countries around the world participated in the credentials presentation ceremony, while a number of senior Russian government officials were also in attendance, representing the Russian Federation.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Presidential Foreign Policy Adviser Yuri Ushakov were present at the ceremony alongside President Putin.
Following the presentation of credentials, during a cordial meeting, the Ambassador formally conveyed to the Russian President the greetings and best wishes of Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, as well as those of the people of Sri Lanka.
